Hon. Emory H. Niles

Early in 1923, Emory H. Niles, Malcolm H. Lauchheimer and Roger B. Williams, all of whom were then lawyers of approximately thirty years of age engaged in active practice in Baltimore, agreed that it would be desirable to organize a small club of lawyers of similar ages and tastes to meet frequently for the purpose of seriously discussing legal problems of mutual interest…it was unanimously decided to form a club.
