SUMMARY:December 2021 Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, December 16\, 2021 for our next Wranglers meeting! \nThe evening’s topic will be: \nOpen Source Software and Collaboration: What Is It and Why Is It Weird \nwith Steve Winslow\, Esq.\n \nOver the past few decades\, free and open source software has shifted from a primarily academic and hobbyist practice to become a central part of the modern technical world. In this presentation\, Steve will give an overview of open source software and licensing\, discussing how it subverts assumptions about copyright and intellectual property law and how it provides a model for other types of collaboration. \nSteve Winslow recently joined as Counsel at Boston Technology Law\, advising clients on technology transactions\, data privacy and commercial contracts. Prior to that\, he was Vice President of Legal and Compliance and a Director of Strategic Programs at The Linux Foundation.
