Maryland’s Only Marriage Lawyer: Old Laws and Weird Writs
In March, Joe Dudek joined the Courts and Judicial Affairs Division of the Attorney General’s Office. The four-lawyer division advises and defends the State’s courts, judges, circuit court clerks, registers of wills, quasi-judicial executive agencies, and court-specific ethics commissions. He will talk on the oddest parts of that assignment—the comically complicated regulation of Maryland marriage licenses, the original jurisdiction of the Court of Appeals, and changes affecting public access to court records.
